Session 25 - The Reaper's Return. Report

General Summary

Westmarch town celebrated its first Reaper's Return fesitval. Due to the work of the pathfinders guild the town has grown substantially over the last two years as more and more people come to settle within its walls. 
Our heroes reuinited after an extended absense to pursue their own goals, enjoying an evening of food, music and dance. 
However, among the revelry a sinister individual stalked through the town. Moving under the guise of a dancer, this agent placed a device upon the obelisk at the town's centre and activated it unleashing the pent up magics. Sending a pillar of untamed arcane energy high into the sky.
The devestation was swift and brutal as the rampant mana awoke the town's dead and sent them into a frenzy of destruction. 
The heroes fought through waves of their former friends to the obelisk where justicar Thorne unmasked the unkown assailant and the two crossed blades. Meanwhile some of the townsfolk had been cornered by the reanimated remains of the prize meal, a massive ankylosaur. 
After a grueling fight the pathfinders were able to defeat both foes but several of their friends and colleagues fell in battle. 
Prospur, Cleaver and Xira had fallen. 
On Kairi's order the dead were burned to stop anything like this from happening again. 
Tinkerer noticed another green pillar of light on the eastern horizon, and the group made ready for their next adventure.
