Session 5: The Overgrown Shrine. Report

General Summary

The new Pathfinder initiates set off from Westmarch to cleanse the Shrine to the East.
Wushuu led the party over the hills and valleys of Kaldur's Gauntlet, stopping to recover some of the local plants.
As evening drew in the group located the shine with the help of Felwyn, Tinkerer's owl familiar. Tinkerer also found a small lockbox with several orbs of a black viscous liquid.
Deciding not to spend the night in the forest the pathfinders regrouped at the outskirts and made camp. The night was blessedly peaceful.
The next day the group ventured into the shrine, a beautiful Zemerian Structure overgrown with vines and blooms of Yetisbane. Wushuu Successfully cultivated 3 samples.
Close to midday Yulgor led the party into the shrine where they discovered a statue to an old and almost forgotten Zemerian God known as Sylvanthias .
The Shrine was almost fully reclaimed by nature, trees and vines covering the marbled floor.
As they approached the Shrine, Wushuu attempted to commune with the land in this holy place, but instead woke a Dryad, a spirit of the wood who animated the vines, cutting off the parties retreat.
The spirit identified herself as Emerata, a servant of Sylvanthias and invited Wushuu to join her in the embrace of the vines. Wushuu played along before attacking Emerata. A desperate battle followed, Wushuu was injured, Naivara momentarily charmed by the fey spirit and one of the trees set ablaze by Tinkerer.
The party had only moments to gather anything of importance as the flames caught as began to engulf the old Shrine. Kairi found a crate of potions and ring on an old skeleton and Wushuu took up the dryads staff, a withered branch veiled in black fire.
The party returned to Westmarch with their items and the Shrine was left to the flames.
Upon inspection of the items Wushuu chose to destroy the staff which emanated a powerful aura of evil around it. The party was rewarded for cleansing the shrine and now have some downtime before their next mission.
