Mountains of Gao Shan

The Mountains of Gao Shan provides a natural barrier between the Eastern Peninsula and the Earth Mainland. Majestic from a distance, but perilous to climb, the mountains offer a great and terrible cliff-face to the beholder. The only safe way through the mountains is by taking The Lion's Pass located near the center of the mountain range.
Legend holds the Mountains of Gao Shan were originally crafted by the Lion Turtles through their powerful bending abilities. If true, this might explain why The Lion's Pass is so neatly set in the middle of the Mountain Range.
