Broken Sword

Broken Sword is a mysterious anti-Saurian terrorist group, oddly comprised almost exclusively of those of the Saurian race. They have been responsible for many past assassinations and attempts, along with other various seemingly random tactical strikes or bombings. Their base of operations is widely unknown, despite the Saurian government’s veracious attempts to locate and destroy it. Another source of mystery surrounding this terror group is their surprising arsenal and access to weapons of mass destruction. This has led some to suspect a leak in the higher ups of Sauria, but as of now none have been proven to even the smallest of collusion. However, debatably the scariest thing about Broken Sword is their seeming lack of motive or any demands. As far as we know, they kill Saurians for the sake of killing. The leader of Broken Sword is totally unknown, whenever a lead is discovered it always ends up being some underling, making the terrorist leader the most wanted individual in the galaxy even though no one knows who they are or anything about them. Lastly, their operations are almost exclusive to the Saurian Empire almost never targeting Walren or Kadar governments.

History

Unbeknownst to anyone, least of all the Saurian Empire, the core of Broken Sword was actually sent from the future by the Emperor himself. This was due to Saurian scientists discovering a very dangerous technology many many years in the future. This tech was the ability to draw a soul from the void, then using the soul as a power source for near limitless energy. Or a weapon of mass destruction. The weapon proved far to powerful, tearing open a rift in space, rapidly sucking all of Avendora do oblivion. Unfortunately, the instructions given to the now Broken Sword operatives were unclear, the operatives taking it to mean they were to stop the production by any means necessary, even to go so far as the assassinate the Emperor or take down the entire government as a whole.
