Execution
The payment, regulation, and collection of taxes is enforced with few exceptions by the National Saurian Taxation Enforcement Agency (NSTEA). Some citizens that are somewhat upset with this organization’s activities refer to members as “nasties”.
Participants
Every Saurian citizen, origination, and cooperation is required by law to pay taxes. Positions are not exempt. Proven charity and legitimate religious organizations have current tax exempt status, along with those confirmed as disabled to the point of not being able to provide for themselves adequately. Additionally, veterans of the Saurian military (and various other groups) gain tax cuts of -.2 to -5 percent.
Observance
Taxes on commercial goods and most other things are included in their displayed price and are withdrawn upon purchase. Income tax is automatically subtracted before deliverance of every paycheck. Any other taxes and tax returns are all filed in the beginning of the preceding year. 99.8% of Saurian citizens use taxation calculator AIs issued by the government, for a small fee.
