Voidwraith
Basic Information
Anatomy
Voidwraiths have translucent shimmering flesh that glows ever so faintly in the darkness of space where they reside. Their bodies themselves are ethereal in nature, phasing through any physcial matter as if it wasn't there, making them excessively difficult to study in addition to their aversion to contact with other sapient species. Two long, wirery arms protrude from a fairly featureless torso ending in a tail-like whisp that swirls endlessly in unfelt wind.
Dietary Needs and Habits
The only food these ghostly creatures have been observed to consume are some ethereal energy released when a person dies. While nobody knows for sure what they are consuming, it is widely thought that when an individual dies there is an energy release as their soul leaves their body and enters the Void and that Voidwraiths feed exclusively on this energy release before it dissipates moments after death. They often wait by large battles to swoop in after its conclusion like strange spaceborn vultures to feed on death.
Additional Information
Geographic Origin and Distribution
Voidwraiths can be found roving across the galaxy in even the most remote corners of space, many in Free Space. In fact, just about the only place they have never been seen is on the surface of a planet. Some scientist speculate that this is due to a fear that they may get caught in the planet's gravitational pull and phase straight through its crust and to its core where they would be trapped forever.

Perception and Sensory Capabilities
It is unknown exactly how Voidwraiths perceive reality, but it seems as though they can either sense, see, or smell death that is to occur in the near future. This has been deduced as there have been many instances of Voidwraiths following warships in space on their way to a battle which inevitably results in the deaths of many men.

Body Tint, Colouring and Marking
Their bodies swirl constantly with ever shifting shades of faintly glowing pastel colors, brighter and more vigorously when they feed. Their eyes glow brighter than the rest of their bodies with a more fuisha color.
