Zautan Slaughter Memorial Day

History

This national holiday is a time dedicated to the remembrance of The Zautan Slaughter, remembering the 478 Saurian soldiers and countless Kadar civilians who were killed that day by the Walren. The soldiers, formerly the Blue Arrow Battalion, were almost all from the planet of Acadia, and thus there their loss is felt the greatest.

Execution

The people of Acadia have taken to holding a ceremony during the event where an arrow shaped rocket coated in glossy blue paint and filled with notes or other items to commemorate the Acadi men that died that day is launched from the capitol city to fly into the system’s sun. This symbolizes the sacrifice the soldiers of the Blue Arrow Battalion made all those years ago, ultimately for no reason.

Observance

5/10 every year, the day the slaughter began, memorials are held around the galaxy.
