Nemezhat Crew

"Its first name was Xerhat, back when it was a lost Ilithship with no consciousness. It wandered the Astral Sea surviving on pure instinct. It wasn't until it found our world, so full of life in its vasts seas, that it could finally avoid long, terrible bouts of hunger. It masked itself as a ship upon the water, it's natural instinct of camouflage. Then, during a storm, it sensed men and women in the waters. For some reason, without a brain or purpose other than to survive and eat, the Xerhat saved them. That is how the crew of the Nemezhat came to be. As fate would soon have it, an Elder Brain found its way to the Xerhat and the two united. The united entity, known as the Nemezhat emerged, in full cognitive control of its abilities. It could change its shape at will, extend tentacles, and even eat other ships and projectiles. It could do all of this without the loss of the sweet, innocent, protective nature it possessed all those months ago when it decided to save a group of Dromish young people." - from the journals of Old Jass
