Iekon (I-eh-kon)
If I told you to imagine the greatest Heaven, could you do it? If I told you to think of a land from which you would never want to leave, could you imagine it? There was once a time where I could. Iekon, the Towers of Heaven. It was so beautiful. It was paradise. And it is forever from my grasp. I can never fly to the tops of its towers. And I can never again bask in the warmth of its light. For I broke the law of Iekon and I will never see it again.
Geography
Iekon is known for the ground being nothing but a sea of cloud. One can walk around them without issue as they travel but most inhabitants of Iekon are known to fly, whether through wings or by magical means. Across this infinite plane, there are "towers", large structures that rise out of the ground where the Gods and Celestial Lords dwell. Some are perceived as mountains, other as spires, and some as massive trees. These towers can be small and thin enough to only house a master and their servants or large enough to be as vast as continents. Anything one can think of can be done. Notable Gods and Lords on Iekon are:
- The King in the Clouds: A powerful celestial who is close to the precipice of godhood if the rumors are to be believed. His tower a serials of spires erupting from a snow capped mountain. Each floor has a ground that is nothing but clouds, each floor sleek but the only color existing being white or shades of grey. Those who have been arbiters of law often find themselves joining his domain. Grunish the Warrior also makes his home here.
- Bahzira: The healer and honorable one of the Drakon pantheon. Here she helps lawful spirits and celestials who have been trauamtized by their lifes or their battles. People who have been gravely injured and need powerful healing are also taken here. Her "tower" is a massive hospice where she walks around in both an humanoid form and her dragon form. Her dragon hoard is here as well, where she can pull from it for items that may aid others.
- Xu Gang: The God protector of the Divine Empire. As a protector to his lord, he is often not in his hold but his influence is there all the same. He is not just the protector but also the one who hunts down evil and injustice. Those that swear vengeance against all evil and hunt it down regardless of what may come find this place as their home. His tower is a fiery spire where weapons and tools to use against evil are constantly forged and where the armies of heaven are trained.
- Kasu: A powerful archon who believes the only way to defeat evil is to purify them. His "tower" is a castle time with a beam of light in the middle. Any who enter are purged of all their sins and this is often where fiends who wish to repent are taken to be reborn into new Celestials. Those that redeemed others in life and in their afterlife call this place their home.
- Mien Su: An archon who serves as the Great Librarian. His "tower" is a massive library with an inventory that rivals that even of Nistra's. Great philosopher spirits and celestials gather in this space and even Jinro the Scholar visits here from time to time. Here debates gather about all sorts of topics, especially the most recent one being whether good is a definite positive in the universe. The debate has gotten so deep that some celestials have fallen because of their words in these debates and it has it's own permanant room in the spire for others to come and go.
- The Oathkeeper: A mysterious Archon who is said to be as old as the Raven Queen herself, their domain is one of oathmaking. It is here that all spirits can come to declare their intent to become celestials and be born anew. It is also where those who kept to oaths of pacifism stay, hidden from the conflicts of Iekon. Vulus of the Lonavi pantheon has been known to spend time here.
History
Iekon was made when the lawful spirits of the universe first cemented themselves. The archons were the first to call this place home before the gods descended and joined them. And with them came the concept of souls and mortals and the archons found their ranks being swelled by the lawful good people of Avestra. Of course, their ranks shrank when the Blood War war came, serving as the vanguard. They lost legions against the hoards of evil, especially when finding demonkind. But Archaon took the brunt of the damage, leaving Iekon undamaged. Even the scars left by the X'ith'ila have done little to disrupt the plane as the gods and the lords cement their domains. However, there has been change with the coming of the Eternals. As doubt creeps into even the Celestial Lords, their hold over their domain starts to wane as others claim them or they collapse wholesale. There is worry that one day the Celestial Lords might find themselves no longer rulers over their homes, bowing to the gods in their wisdom. And while some Celestials may be fine with that, others have not forgotten when it was they who fought in the Blood War and the War for Avestra while the gods either worked through agents or didn't help at all.
