Éminianas Telura Mia'Avhoro

Éminianas Telura Mia'Avhoro was the last Mia of the Kingdom of Krsi. Though popular with her people, her reign was characterized by antagonistic relations with other nations in Raheddica, and her actions brought about the Blood Scourge War and the Krsiljudi genocide. She was publicly executed in Avheda, the capital of the Kingdom of Krsi.

History

From a very young age, Éminianas was selected as a contender for the title of next Mia. She was taken in by the temple and groomed to be a leader. Her lessons included history, economics, politics, geography, leadership, and blood magic. Her teachers were the elders and Kamorsa Envidé Mia'Saro, the reigning Mia at the time. While some of the adults around her kept their opinions to themselves in order to let her develop her own, many used the chance to impress their beliefs into her malleable mind.   Éminianas grew up under the belief that the Krsiljudi were superior to Čoljudi, blessed by the Đakrsinja who wished for them to use their powers to claim their rightful place. Her views towards those who refused to use their abilities and advocated for peace with the surrounding nations became shadowed; she thought them weak, unwilling to use their natural gifts, and groveling at the feet of those who considered them nothing but beasts. By the time she was formally declared successor, she had cut ties with them and surrounded herself with likeminded people.   She started her reign strong, clearly voicing her opinions without fear. Those who agreed with her were radicals and loudly supported her and those who disagreed were far outnumbered. The majority of Krsiljudi held neutral views but under the loud voices of the radicals and her persuasive words, they soon voiced their support. She took action immediately, announcing her withdrawal from restrictive treaties and agreements with the Čoljudi. Uncertain of how far the Mia would take things, the Čoljudi nations took no action which only served to prove her point of Krsi superiority.   Invigorated by the results and the praise of her people, Éminianas' actions became even more aggressive. The use of blood magic which had been heavily restricted under the previous treaties was now freely used within the kingdom. King Tsuré of Avardunn, recognizing the growing threat, issued an ultimatum stating that if the Kingdom of Krsi did not cease its aggression, the Kingdom of Avardunn would be forced to declare war. In response, Éminianas closed down the borders. No one entered and no one left; the outside world was answered with silence.   Inside its walls, however, the Kingdom of Krsi was active with preparations of war. Éminianas ordered the capture of all Čoljudi within the borders to be captured and sacrificed in a Blood Tribute. Those who protected the Čoljudi would be executed for acts of treason in aiding the enemy. After two months of silence, when preparations were complete and Avardunn had relaxed its tension, the Kingdom of Krsi launched a surprise war on the Kingdom of Avardunn, marking the start of the Blood War.

The Blood War

The start of the war was quick and brutal. The first attack took place in the dead of night: multiple villages were quickly taken as the humble villagers and meager stationed troops were overwhelmed by the fearsome blood scourges. With such swift action, no one had a chance to send a warning to the capital and the attack went unnoticed. And so the attacks continued, armies of blood scourges destroying towns and continuing to grow as the Krsiljudi performed blood tributes each time; turning Avardunn citizens into mindless soldiers to fight against their own people and kingdom.   Soon, however, people happened across the empty villages and news quickly reached King Tsuré. Unfortunately, despite his efforts to turn the tides of the war, his forces were outnumbered by the sheer number of blood scourge. Though their ability in battle was weak and a skilled fighter was able to deal with many, his forces were overwhelmed. Each time a soldier fell, he would join the ranks of blood scourge, dealing a huge blow to morale as soldiers were forced to fight the former shells of their comrades. It didn't take long for the kingdom to capitulate.   By this time, the other Raheddican nations had become aware of the issue and had entered into an alliance against the Kingdom of Krsi. Not all members agreed on how they would provide support with some arguing that they needed more support due to being closer while others were unwilling to lend so many troops. While these nations distracted themselves, Éminianas led her people and continued to attack the smaller, weaker nations, growing her forces even more.   The war continued on like this for months until the Kingdom of Rhedya and the few remaining kingdoms in the North sought help from Baralj, Njirralde, and Čéarku. With their assistance, the tides of the war slowly began to turn. The Kingdom of Rhedya was able to get a foothold in the south of the Kingdom of Krsi, taking hold of the Tsui'Am temple. This was a major turning point as the Krsiljudi refused to attack the holy walls of their temple. Eventually, Éminianas was captured in Avheda and she was quickly executed. Though the Krsiljudi continued to fight back, their momentum was broken and Éminianas' execution marked the end of the Blood Scourge War and the start of the Krsiljudi genocide.

Legacy

Éminianas Telura Mia'Avhoro's aggression towards the Čoljudi led to the eventual extinction of the Krsiljudi. While the Krsiljudi had previously maintained a relatively peaceful relationship with the Čoljudi, reducing their appearance as a threat by agreeing to restrictions on the use of their blood magic, Éminianas, believing that doing so was sacrilege, took an agressive stance and ended amicable relations with them.   The Blood Scourge War proved to the Čoljudi that the Krsiljudi were incredibly dangerous and, due to the radicals under Éminianas' reign and the free use of blood magic during the war, immoral and evil. The Kingdom of Rhedya decided that restraining the Krsiljudi under agreements not to use their blood magic was detrimental as they would only turn around and break the agreement again in the future. With the implicit agreement of the nations of Raheddica that remained standing after the war, and the other nations of the world looking the other way, the Kingdom of Rhedya began a genocide of the Krsiljudi people. In the end, all known Krsiljudi in Raheddica were executed and the species is believed to have gone extinct.   Éminianas Telura Mia'Avhoro is remembered as "The Blood Queen", a terrible scourge who broke the peace of Raheddica and claimed the lives of hundreds of thousands of soldiers and innocents alike.

Relations with the Krsiljudi were always shaky at best. No one could quite trust them, knowing what they were capable of. But their were only minute differences in their anatomy compared to the Čoljudi and so they blended in quite well in Čoljudi society.   It is uncertain if the extinction of the Krsiljudi would have happened if not for Éminianas Telura Mia'Avhoro's actions; most Krsiljudi seemed content with the status quo and were happy to concede the free use of their magic to maintain diplomatic relations with the Čoljudi.
