The Če'arem
The Če'arem is a Krsiljudi artifact that went missing during the Blood Scourge Wars. It is believed to detail a series of experiments that unravel the inner workings of blood magic; specifically, the Blood Tribute performed by the Đakrsinja and Krsiljudi and its resulting curse, the Blood Scourge. Because of its contents, the Če'arem is considered a dangerous artifact. While world governments seek to destroy it or leave it forgotten in some hidden vault, other, less noble people seek it for its knowledge as blood magic falls under apagoremancy.
Though popular belief is that the Če'arem is a large tome, it is actually a set of twelve scrolls. Each scroll has a different focus whether it be the details of an experiment or an in-depth explanation of the magic. The works were not authored by one person but by a group of people over a long period of time. This is made apparent by the different handwriting, writing styles, and dialects used throughout. It is unknown whether multiple people contributed to it at the same time or if it was passed down through a family or master and disciple. The first author is believed to be one of the earliest Krsiljudi or the precursors before their speciation.
Ainsi - A Study of Blood Magic
The first scroll, titled Ainsi, delves into the workings of blood magic assuming that the reader is knowledgable in advanced magic theory. The author relates blood magic to hydromancy and building upon the similarities between the two, outlines a relatively easy system of learning and practice that makes this scroll one of the most dangerous in its knowledge.
Ajameb - Đakrsinja and Blood Tributes
The majority of this scroll is authored by the writer of the first and abruptly switches to a second author who picks up where the other left off. It details the anatomy and behavior of the Đakrsinja in such depth that the author is thought to have formed some sort of understanding with one of the beasts, allowing for close study. It then goes into theories on how Blood Tributes work.
Maheddet - Blood Scourges
This scroll was written by at least five people and marks a much darker turn in studies. This scroll documents a series of experiments and is the first time that the author writes that they have bloodline transferred abilities. These experiments were done to gain a better understanding of the Blood Scourge, a curse made after a Blood Tribute of which multiple were performed. The details are said to be specific and gruesome.
Heimei - Control of Blood Scourges
Similarly to Maheddet, Heimei is a collection of experiments though authored by only one person. These experiments tested the limits of control over Blood Scourges and determined that the mind of the Blood Scourge is no more. These experiments were particularly cruel and involved such things as self-mutilation, cannibalism, and the killing of one's own family.
Scrolls
Although there are twelve scrolls, they were closely guarded by the Krsiljudi before their disappearance. Only the contents of the first four are known.
