Eira Marble
Overview
Eira Marble is known for its snow white color and a strangely uniform appearance. There are also crystal specks embedded into the marble that can catch light thereby giving the marble a glittering appearance. Eira Marble can only be found on the Continental Island of Lluvia. It is a very rare kind of marble. There is no evidence of its existence before The Great Collapse. No structure built by The Ancient Order has used the material. Some hypothesize that Eira Marble was formed during the years of chaos adding another layer of mystery to those lost years.Sable Eira
There is an even rarer variety of Eira Marble that has been discovered in small fragments along the shores of Continental Island of Valjeta- Sable Eira Marble. This version is sable in appearance with the same uniform appearance. Another point of difference is that the glittering specks in Sable Eira shine with many colors. This kind of marble has been used to create several kinds of small works, usually artistic in purpose.History & Usage
Discovery
The discovery of Eira marble is believed to have happened around 400AGC, when a small deposit was discovered in the Silver Mountains. Only four other sources of Eira Marble were discovered in later years, the largest of which was discovered in 1029AGC. This particularly large source became the Marble City of Biser before becoming the Biser Marble Quarry known today. In fact, it was a major dispute over how to use the incredibly large deposit of marble that sparked the movement that later established the short-lived Principality of Draethlin.

Note(s) from the Archivists:
The large round table in the foyer of the Eustacia Archive is made of Eira Marble. It doesn't seem that different to some other kinds of marble to me. - Archivist Edward It takes a certain sophistication to appreciate the nuances between different kinds of stone. - Archivist Bob Are you implying that I lack sophistication? - Archivist Edward Maybe. - Archivist BobRemove these ads.
