Helian Fire
Careful, I've seen this stuff burn for four weeks during the rainy season. Best campfire ever.
Overview
A special substance that, when lit, will burn intensely and for long periods. It is used to devastating effect by the Kingdom of Helia. It cannot be extinguished by water, or sand. Only a Helian Mage has the power to extinguish the burning gel prematurely. It is therefore a highly dangerous substance and should not be used without strict supervision lest one burns down an entire town. The technology has yet to reach its final form. In recent engagements, several survivors have told tales of a "blue fire" that is even more destructive than the incarnation of Helian Fire most know. The new fire burns brighter and hotter, yet it appears it does not last as long. Doubtless Helia intends to improve the new technology so that it will burn longer. This new fire has already elicited attention from the surrounding regions, including tribes allied to the Kingdom. Strangely, the Queendom of Lunaria has yet to comment on the new development.
Access & Availability
The makings of Helian Fire are a closely guarded secret by the Kingdom. Only high-ranking members of Helian society are permitted access to the substance, and usually only while on a campaign. To date, no one else has discovered a similar substance or have been able to replicate the technology.
Discovery
Helian Fire was a key component in the formation of the Kingdom of Helia. It is said that the first King of Helia had made the substance which he then used to establish his country. The Kingdom has since perfected its use over the centuries. Many believe the substance was utilized by the ancients, and that the first King had merely found it amid an ancient ruin.
Notes from the Archivists
Why can't we store this stuff in the library again? - Archivist Bob Because a careless someone would inevitably set fire to it. We would surely lose the library, and all it contains, if that happens. - Archivist Taenya.Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
