Queendom of Lunaria
Yes, the Queendom is quiet when compared to the Kingdom of Helia. But make no mistake, the Queendom is every bit as ambitious as its louder neighbor. - Artur Neha, Traveler
Overview
The western power of the Continental Island of Lluvia is powerful magocracy. Lunaria's interest in the utilization of magic for various ends has earned the Queendom the reputation as a land of magic arts. The only other magocracy is the Xeta Magocracy which is located to the eastern side of the continental island. Unlike Xeta, Lunaria officially condemns necromancy and the darker arts. The country is currently ruled by a powerful Elven Queen, Queen Shava Lunaria. Lunaria has had kings in the past, and the last king was in power in 1127AGC during the then Kingdom's final expansion. Since then, Lunaria has shifted towards building ties with nearby tribes and states. Most have grown rather fond of this new direction from Lunaria, but others are growing suspicious. Queen Shava has grown quiet over how she intends to handle the ever aggressive expansion of the Kingdom of Helia. For the Love of Silver
Lunarians prize silver over gold, for they prize the color and glow of the moon. Many lights used at night in the Queendom are of a soft, white glow rather than orange one would encounter in other lands. Magic is often used to make such lights, as well as to make several other decorations seen in the Queendom. Lunaria embraces the arcane arts far more than any other peoples on the continent, and they go as far as to celebrate its usage. This is in contrast to most tribes on Quassus who are either cautious or suspicious about the practice. Most of Lunaria's allies have expressed concern over the Queendom's seemingly unrestricted use of magic in the past. These tribes and Kingdoms have grown quieter about it as Lunaria continues to build ties with them. Currently, the state is ruled by a powerful Elven Queen, Queen Shava Lunaria. Lunaria has had kings in the past, and the last king was in power in 1127AGC during the then Kingdom's final expansion. Since then, Lunaria has shifted towards building ties with nearby tribes and even giving aid once in a while. Most have grown rather fond of this new direction from Lunaria, but others are growing suspicious. The latter case is especially true when the ruling monarchy is increasingly quiet about what it intends to do with an Alliance, and the inevitable conflict with the Kingdom of Helia on its eastern border.Western Occulus Gate
The Queendom of Lunaria has control over the Western Occulus Gate. This key point of control has afforded Lunaria economic advantages over their neighbors. They impose a safe passage tax on all vessels passing through the Azure Strait.Military
The Lunarian military prizes speed and stealth over large formations. Lunarian archers are trained from a young age to engage enemies at a distance and to remain unseen by them. It is said that Lunarian soldiers operate all over the continent, but it is difficult to know how much truth there is to this belief. Lunaria also fields more mages than other monarchies. The Royal Guard at Luna is almost composed entirely of mages. Lunarian military commanders are almost always sorceresses, who are trained from birth in the arcane and strategic arts.Territories
Lunaria controls territory between the Western Occulus Gate and the Fractured Coast in the east.
Military
When the stars are out and the full moon is shining bright, run. - Givila Steelspear, Centrum GuardLunaria's military is at their best during the night. This s especially true in the moonlight. Lunarian mages have been trained in the use of spells that use the moonlight for increased potency.
Army
Archers Lunarian Archers are the deadliest on the continent. Not only are their most the most advanced, but the archers themselves are highly trained and capable of downing unsuspecting enemies quickly and quietly. Calvary Lunarian Calvary are generally used to either scout territory or to deliver messages.Navy
Longbows The Lunarian Longbow boats are quick and agile. They are also known to field large ballistas that can outrange most ships. The exceptions are the Centrum Galleons. Lunarian battle doctrine also dictates that these boats carry a platoon of archers ready to rain a storm of arrows on any enemy vessel.Technological Level
The best Repeating Bows are fielded by Lunarian Archers, making them the deadliest on the continent. The Lunarian Repeating Bow is capable of firing more arrows more quickly and more quietly.
Foreign Relations
Lunaria generally reaches out to and assists the tribes within it sphere of influence. However, the Queendom does require tributes of resources, most especially silver, from the tribes in exchange for its favor. There exists a strong alliance between the Queendom and twelve neighboring tribes, and it seems that it is set to become even larger.
It is said that as the moon travels the sky with the stars shining brightly, so too does the Queendom of the Lunaria encourage their immediate neighbors.

Lunarian archers are no joke. I saw a bandit get pierced by three arrows in the blink of an eye by when I traveled with one. - Archivist Enna .Remove these ads. Join the Worldbuilders Guild
