Obskarv Stronghold

Overview

Obskarv Stronghold is a castle located in the Undrelm on the outskirts of the mining town of Obskarv. The Stronghold was the residence of the Undwarf Prince, Kudrugg Stoneback, and his wife, Ezen.

Appearance

Obskarv Stronghold is a foreboding presence in an already generally foreboding place. It has a naturally occurring river of magma that it utilises as a moat. It it two stories tall, with parapets and walkways around the perimeter on top. It also has a level below, which acts as its dungeon and prison.

The Obskarv Uprising

In 584PC, a patrol of Undwarves discovered the expedition by The Aldenian Archaeological Society and The Grey Scales to The Temple of Fior Equa and kidnapped them all, taking them to the Stronghold's dungeon.
Several members of the captives were killed for various reasons, mostly retaliation for insubordination. When an adventuring party arrived at the front gate, Soldunn Darkhold, a Hill Dwarf, managed to bluff his way in pretending to be an Undwarf, taking the rest of his party down to the dungeon under the pretence they were more captives. From there, they mounted a breakout of the remaining Archaeological Society and Grey Scales members.
The escapees fled to the nearby town, Obskarv itself, and ended up rallying the residents into an uprising against the Stonebacks and stormed the Stronghold. In the resulting fight, both Stonebacks perished at the hands of the adventuring party and the rescued members of the expedition. Kudrugg's prized Garnet Warhammer was taken by Soldunn.
