Abigail Vertruse
Lady Abigail Vertruse (a.k.a. The White Witch)
Abigail is a classic case of someone with a good heart pursuing the wrong means. Born of a gypsy and a graverobber, she seemed to have a strong, hidden connection to the occult at even an early age, and showed great academic promise. Her parents cobbled together what wealth they could to afford her an education, and upon her graduation and into her early adulthood, she began to experience her 'awakening'.
Initially troubled with the ability to hear the dead, she tempered her resolve and sought to make it work in her favor, often communing with spirits long past. It was here she found brief success as a detective, using the whispers of victims long past to guide her investigation, but when she was faced with a crying widow desperate to meet her husband, Abigail redoubled her efforts and studied tirelessly into the Necromantic arts.
A few months later, she met with this woman and did the unthinkable...raising her husband and channeling her best to result in sparse sentences conveyed to his beloved. They were caught, however, by the wandering guard, who slew the undead as his widowed wife quailed with fear, and Abigail was branded a witch, beaten, and ultimately chased out of town.
She settled in Cobblewald where those in need of her services to speak to their loved ones can seek her out for assistance. Despite the many rumors and tales of her being evil, she actually acts with good and noble intentions, and insists she would hurt no one.
In fact, she seems to take care of the undead after being raised, creating masks to ensure they're not hostile, as well as repairing the clothing they were buried in.
"Worst thing we ever did was let that witch leave. Careful you don't bump into her, or you'll be staring at the teeth of a skeleton as it chews out your liver!"
Physical Description
Special abilities
She is quite the Necromancer, to the point that she can raise any number of the dead, and seemingly with a time that doesn't run out, but refuses to use her powers to harm.
Social
Family Ties
Her mother and father were nomads and vagabonds. Coupled this as well as being deceased, and it stands to reason she has no family to her knowledge.
Wealth & Financial state
What wealth she once had is only vaguely put on display in her clothes...the same clothes she fled with and takes great care of. Often her clients will pay her, but what little she earns goes towards her personal upkeep and the reagents used in her craft.
