Auresia - Goddess of Wealth

A massive, awe inspiring dragon with a coat of gold so heavy and fine that she lacks wings or any ability to fly, Auresia is the very inspiration to many of the financially wealthy or seeking to be just so. She is often depicted as towering over humanoids and even many Gods, sweeping her regal cloak-like-tail behind her as she moves with each thundering step heralding her journey.   Unlike the other gods who had to maintain their power, Auresia's domain was already regulated by economies all over the world. To shower her followers in gold would upset the balance of their markets, and she reasoned that wealth was better suited in her ebon talons, so she exhausted most of her powers almost immediately, opting to creating a pocket dimension...effectively a miniature version of a realm...to house her sea of riches, known as the Realm of Gold. It's here, among rivers of gleaming coins, that she lurks about both jealously guarding her hoard and also bathing in it, burrowing her snout in the many ornaments and gold covered items and letting them roll down the back of her neck.
Greedling
Also within her power (As well as a bit of help from Eos - Goddess of Death ), she was able to repurpose little twisted imps to serve her divine needs. These 'Greedlings', would scamper where gold was dropped or lost, shove them into their bag, and escape back to the pocket dimension through a portal to deposit their earnings to Auresia's mighty hoard. However, this is mostly done out of the eye of people, as they are notoriously weak and skiddish...breeding more urban tales about themselves than actual facts. A common folk tale is of a man who managed to grab onto one just as it was leaping into its portal, taking him with it, and how he survived the land of gold, avoiding all the traps, pitfalls, and of course Auresia along the way. A common saying when someone misplaces money is 'Looks like a Greedling grabbed your pocket!'
There are many tales of her appearing as a humanoid to walk among people, generally as a way to flaunt her wealth, yet these stories are often spun in a positive light, as if her flowing golden dress and her resplendent spiral horns inspire the downtrodden and impoverished. She also is described as having gold coins falling from her cloak as she walks, often to the joy of rushing slum goers.   Commonly worshiped by: Misers, Bankers, Merchants, Mimics, any with a fondness for wealth, some kobolds who value her as a dragon.

Author's Notes

This character is an homage to my favorite game franchise and monster within it. If you've played Monster Hunter World, and have encountered Kulve Taroth, then you've encountered my muse for this article and her sheer majesty. I hope you enjoyed the read as much as I enjoyed writing on it. More to come.

I should go back to MHW to chase it maybe, having this story in mind would certainly intensifies the pleasure of the hunt. The idea of meeting her in human form is quite amusing, even if pure fiction. Your choice of depiction is once again a nice pick. Just a minor correction : used/exhausted* most of her powers.

Great work on the correction. I'll edit it later. And yes, I hate just stealing ideas, but I wanted to pay tribute to my favorite franchise and monster. Hunt her down! Just don't hurt her too much!
