Hearthberry Hills
A series of gently rolling hills and emerald green grass create the Hearthberry Hills, previously the home of the occasional Halfling that did not travel out in search of adventure or exploration. While some communities exist they are very small and spread out, often as Halflings carrying on family dormitories.
Even further west settle the roaming grounds of a few giant tribes. However, because of their tendency to build their homes into the hills and in decorated burrows, many Halflings consider them more as a pest than an actual threat.
Natural Resources
Wild horses and sheep will often travel over the hills. Northwest, closer to the mountains, goats can be seen in packs.
Incredibly soft and rich grass indicates soil ideal for farming, but unless it is properly tended, bushes and trees generally do not grow. As a product of their settlements small patches of wild flowers will grow near Halfling homes, acting as an indicator of the difficult to spot hovels for those knowing what to look for.
Aware of this, many Halfling homes will grow a specific wildflower (Such as a dandelion) and even modify it, generally through coloring, to fit it to their home. A Halfling may, for example, color a patch of daisies growing near their home red and pink.
