James Warrenson
Admiral James Warrenson
Chief Admiral of the Yorkton Harbor navy, James Warrenson stands in defense of Grand Barlov and all that is right.
by Marek
He commands a sizable fleet, including his prized vessel the HMS Triumph, which conduct many defense missions such as escorting trade fleets as well as border patrol for any oncoming threats.
The HMS Triumph is an awe inspiring, fully outfitted galleon with a crew just shy of 400 well trained and able sailors. It was commissioned by him as early as when he began his first sailing, making it his life's work to pay for its construction to the many ship builders he came to learn from and respect. Inspired by his dedication to the sea, these shipwrights worked with him over the years, with a couple even passing down the responsibilities and training to their sons as they grew too old to complete the job. It all came to fruition in a moment of serendipity, when he was awarded his title of admiral, which was made even more miraculous considering this was also the day of his father's birthday, only furthering the sentimental value and honor of taking the helm.
This vessel is outfitted just as much for war as it is for sailing, sporting impressive, top of the line cannons and enough storage for a king's share of cannonballs.
It is said that the blast from these full sized cannons is powerful enough to quail the very ocean.

Personal history
Son of Thomas and Kathryn Warrenson, James displayed an intense fondness for the sea at an early age, oft to join his father on his fishing boat and comment on the majesty of the ocean. This was only furthered by the many tales he was regaled with, particularly on exploration and the many wonders of the seas, from gigantic and impressive whales to alluring mermaids and sea witches. It was this starry eyed wonderment that pushed him to learning as much about navigating the seas as he could with intentions of forming his own crew for the adventures he could only dream about.
Thomas Warrenson was also a kind protector, instilling in his son to always stand for what was right and to protect the weak and innocent. Unfortunately for James, his father was the first to perish. A victim of a failing heart condition, Thomas left his son in his teenage years, urging him to care for himself and his mother.
They were forced to sell his prized fishing boat to make financial dues, but fortunately he was accepted into the Duvonian navy positioned in Yorkton Harbor. It was clear after a few voyages that James had all the calling of a prized sailor, and was quick to be promoted.
"Listen to me, James. Not all fights need to be resolved with fists. A good talk can sort things out without having to spill a drop of blood. Even still, you should keep your blade and wits about you, as sometimes fighting is inevitable."
After his promotion to captain he would oversee several fleets, each time winning over the crew and achieving many noteworthy victories, resulting in his inevitable rise to admiral. Yorkton, at the time, was lacking a leader and while many Duvonian provinces were led by a duke, one had not been properly obtained. Taking initiative, James tended to the needs of the people so much so that when a duke was appointed, the admiral of the navy was still considered the leader. The king of Duvonia saw this and dismissed the ruler, appointing James Warrenson as the duke, even if he, in his humility, insisted on simply being referred to as an admiral, citing that was his job first, and perceived royalty second.
He was concerned when Grand Barlov purchased Yorkton, specifically that their wanton drive for riches would steer them into unsavory means to obtain said luxuries, but James recognizes where his family's best interest lies, which is to say with him employed and seeing to the job he has devoted his life to.
