The Wielder of the Violet Power
History
Sorcerers have existed for all of human history. Legend says they were the offspring of humans and gods, who originally had long lives but who lost that trait over time. Others suggest sorcerers were simply another breed of human, alike enough to non-magic humans that interbreeding was possible and frequent. It is assumed magic has changed over the thousands of years humans have been living in the world of Ayrith, but legends of magical people with eyes of violet, who cast spells with magic the same color as their eyes, have been passed down for much of human history.
It has always been known among those in the world of magic that only one sorcerer with violet magic exists at any given time. It is believed that when one dies, another is born in that same breath elsewhere in the world.
Cultural Significance
Because only one Wielder of the Violet Power exists at any time, they are often respected by those who understand magic, and at times feared by those who don't. They often take positions of significance, such as acting as court sorcerers for royalty.
Notable Holders
Aidan Seeker (lived Years 186 - 250)
Aidan lived in the village of Inara in the country of Berk, and was 18 when the volcano there erupted. With the help of his friend, later known as Eryn Watcher (lived Years 185 - 253), a sorcerer with red magic only somewhat less powerful than Aidan's violet, they gathered a group of followers to destroy the volcano. This resulted in the creation of the material known as Altmyr.
