Orc

Current Month: Julwar 2nd: 209, The Fifth Age
Originally designed to be a Weapons Race, orcs were deemed too uncontrollable to be of use to the Tremalking Empire, and were almost extinguished as a race.   However a few managed to escape The Purge, and these 13 became the Ancestors orcs venerate to this day.   Physiology   Crossing slaves and captives with the essence of boar, orcs have skin tones ranging from light green to dark brown, a heavily muscular frame, and considerable stature that make the Orcish people stand apart amongst elves and Men. They also are one of the few races to display tusks, a gift from their boar mutations. Born without the magical affinity of their human ancestors, the Orcs have developed a strong warrior culture that makes them highly valuable in hand-to-hand combat. This is not to say that they cannot wield magic, however, as several famous wizards and sorcerers come from orcish stock.   History   The Orcs were an experiment made by the Tremalking Empire after the successes they had with the Minotaurs. Seeing what would happen when boar essence was used in mutations, their slaves and captives became the first of the orcish race after several years of painful trials. While strong and brave, they also had too strong of a will and spirit, and were deemed failures. Those that survived their old masters purges interbred and began the first tribes of orcs, that spread across Tremalking as roaming nomads. Some tribes managed to find land bridges that allowed passage from Tremalking with Midway, Vaskerry, and Alantris, formed during a short ice page during the third age, allowing the orcish tribes to spread to all of Azures continents.   Culture   Nomadic by nature and necessity, orcs roam in large tribes called Strongs, which can range from a few hundred to several thousand. Sustaining themselves in a mostly hunter gather lifestyle, they supplement this by raiding civilized lands, preferring extortion rather than outright violence. This is not to say that orcs shy away from a fight. Far from it, they welcome challenges to show their strong and courage. They just prefer to fight those that can actually defend themselves, rather than helpless villagers.   Some orcs do settle and abandon their nomadic ways. These settled orcs are referred to as Stronghold orcs, erecting mighty cyclopian stoned fortresses to keep outsides at bay. It is usually of this stock that you find within cities and towns when not in their strongholds.   Religion   The Tribal orcs worship the original 13 orcs who survived the Tremalking purges. known as the thirteen, the orcs celebrate their patrons with great totems, which are usually the first thing that goes up when a tribe settles into an area.   The Thirteen   the Males
