Euphrates
The Lawmaker
"When Euphrates spoke, his voice thundered with authority. It was his idea to host the council to decide of the Sentinels' domains. He was to all the de facto leader of these procedings. Euphrates spoke of the rules that govern life. What separated mortals from the beasts of the world were the rules they governed themselves by. The laws of living that kept one from wronging his fellow man were key to the success and prosperity of a people. Those that took the lead in times of chaos, when the way forward is unknown or uncertain, these are those that walk in the eye of Euphrates. This thing is beautiful.
Not many spoke against Euphrates, as he had walked the path of which he spoke. The Sentinel Othor spoke up, 'What of the weak? Will they not drag the people down? Should those that cannot help themselves not be be left behind?' Euphrates answered, 'The creation created such laws so that the weak need not die. They collect in communities to help one another in order to become stronger than any one individual. This thing is beautiful. A single man might fell a tree in a day. A village might clear a field for crop in the same time.'
Then Euphrates was silent and struck the heel of his gavel against the floor. And it was so."
