The Green Lady

While scholars agree this figure is present in both Angelic and Demon myths, she is regarded very differently in the two kingdoms.
The Angelic Myth
(Interpreted from Enochian)
It is against the Eternal Parent's Laws for an angel to kill another angel. But there is said to be a creature of archangelic blood who follows no Laws. She follows only her own twisted desires. This creature's true name is unspeakable. There is no English translation, but the closest approximation is "She Who Kills". For fear of invoking her wrath, she has been given another name. The Green Alouette, for her eyes. She is the only green-eyed angel.
With eyes of acid and a heart of stone. The ichor that flows through her heart has also spilled upon her blade.
Or so the legend goes.
Obviously, she is not real. None of the archangels of heaven have progeny and none of them would break the Eternal Parent's Laws.
Nephilim are not forbidden but they are certainly frowned upon. If an angel does have a half-human progeny, it is against the Laws for another angel to attempt to harm said child. But if a demon, for whatever reason, chooses to harm the child, there is nothing that could have been done.
The Demonic Myth
(Interpreted from Alyse)
I am afraid. I am alone. Call my name.
She be dust. She be bone. Call out her name.
Green of cloak. Green of eyes. She has no name.
She stands before us, eyes of righteous fire.
Fear not, child. Fear much, wretch. She says thy name.
She will protect thou. She will punish thou.
I hold thy name in my hand, she says to me.
To hold or destroy. Thou cannot escape.
I see thy name. Thou cannot hide from me.
She be dust and bone. She be earth and fire.
Thou cannot hide from her all-seeing eyes.
She be the Keeper of True Names. Bladed one.
She wields thy name like a sharpen'ed sword.
She puts her named blade through thy toxic heart.
She be earth. She be fire. Call out her name.
And pray to her master that she aids you.

Summary

The following are concepts both myths share:
  • Emphasis is placed upon her name and upon true names.
  • She is associated with the colour green
  • Emphasis is placed upon her eyes and the fact that she has green eyes.
Many scholars suspect there was at some point a green-eyed naphil who protected demons from her angelic brethren.

Spread

  • In Seryphorm, the myth of the Keeper appears to be more well known and told to children so they will be good but also know that if bad things happen, someone will help them.
  • In Ashake, the myth of She Who Kills appears to be less openly talked about, likely due to the fear that surrounds the figure.

In Literature

  • The demonic myth is documented in a collection of Endal myths surrounding the spirits called the Irc Phradis which roughly translates to Spirit Book, indicating its nature as a commonly told story.
  • In inverse, the Angelic myth does not appear to be documented anywhere, but rather passed around by word of mouth, said to only be "whispered in darkened alleys on the darkest of nights".
