Ju'ri People's Republic

A representative body of various minor factions and nations throughout the Ju'Ad system, the Ju'ri was originally formed to represent miner unions across the system. However, when the orbital network of space colonies around Holtan began to fill with new colonists, the Ju'ri shifted its focus to these populations, acting as a representative body of space-bound citizens. To accomplish this, the Ju'ri pushed for a larger and more evenly distributed senate, which was heavily dominated by the Imperial royal family and the other noble houses of Rakhar. The Ju'ri's efforts were slow and with little support for decades, and so they openly welcomed the arrival of Union and their promise for a fair and just society. Though the Ju'ri historically have not possessed any military power of their own, their cooperation with Union's liberation of the region was rewarded with the UNS Jewelwing, a joint IPS-N and SSC developed nearlight-capable warship and deployment platform. After the war, their ties with Union and their "dominion" over the space colonies afforded the Ju'ri a special lenience on the warship restriction, allowing them to field an entire battlegroup's worth of ships on the condition that they never consolidate more than 60% of this force in a single engagement. Even with this caveat in place, jealousy over the Ju'ri fleet by other nations is cited as a major factor in the current political tensions.
