Vampires in Baeleris resemble the Vampires of the World of Darkness. I tried to convert the V:tM Vampires to 5e Modern to make them work with our campaigns. While this conversion simplifies the more flexible Storytelling system, it is more complex than standard D&D 5e characters. Therefore, I would not recommend Vampires to beginners, except if you like complex concepts.
To explain: Vampires are part Species & Culture, and part Advanced Class. They also need to track additional resources (their blood pool) and will give up their Advanced Class to improve their vampiric powers.
While Vampires will have a Base Class, there are some limitations in place. The full caster base classes are limited to Clan Tremere. Every other clan may pick any base class that fits their concept. To learn new disciplines, they will have to give up their Advanced Class though.
The other limitation is, that Vampires will not regain their Blood Points during a rest, unless they spend at least one hour hunting and feeding. This limitation makes it necessary, that you try to manage your resources. You will find other rules and limitations in this category.
