Averon, The Lich

Averon is a dark elf wizard who desired to obtain the powers of the plane of death. He promised power, immortality and riches to a few of the people known for fantastical prowesses in his age, killed those who rejected him and so they set on a quest to find the Ballads of Darkness. A song said to have been written by a bard after dreaming with Nis, the goddess of death.
However, his plan would fail as the cleric whom had joined him in his quest, Agmon, betrayed him during the ritual. This betrayal earned Agmon a place among the Gods, now known as the God of Light, due to his success in stopping his six friends from sharing the power of chaining the souls in the plane of death to their own spirits, something that would have completely broken the natural order of things.
The betrayal resulted in all - except Agmon - the six members of the party, to become immortal and cursed with one of the torments of death: -Averon was cursed with the decaying touch, all that is organic and he touches directly decays immediately, al the wine he drinks is vinegar, all the food he bites or touches become rotten.
He manages this a bit by wearing gloves, but even so, anything his mouth comes in contact with is decayed. To afford living without the terrible pangs of hunger that haunted him in the first year, he put all his effort into becoming a lich. As an undead he does not need to eat.
