Icewind Forest

Once a lush and evergreen forest, this place was devastated by a curse set upon the land by a powerful sorcerer who deemed humanity to be unworthy of the fruit of the land. Icewind Forest is eerily cold and terrifyingly dark at night. It borders small cliffs and mountains to the north and is home to the ever-present White Dragon known as Shivracier "The Mighty." Packs of wolves and the occasional Yeti roam the winding labyrinth that is the Icewind Forest.   Not many people take refuge in the thick cold trees, but one very well known city calls this place home, Vasldor, Free Nation of the Empire.

Geography

Icewind Forest is mainly trees with little open sections of land. The mountian range is massive with steep cliffs and tall peaks. Due to the curse on the land all the rivers and streams have been frozen since the curse.

Ecosystem

Due to the lack of vegetation the herbivore numbers are low and has caused the rest of the wild animals to resort to hunting not only prey but other predators. The number of wild animals is low also due to Shivracier "The Mighty."

Ecosystem Cycles

Because of the curse the season does not change. This place is eternal winter, as long as the curse stands. Research by the Royal Rigby family is constantly being done to undo this curse.

Localized Phenomena

There are several known legends in this forest but none more than the sightings of Haagu, Frost Monarch. While Haagu typically is said to live in the mountains, there have been some records of a massive Yeti-like creature hiding in the trees.

History

Icewind Forest used to be called, the Breeze Pine Woods. A lush forest with wildlife all around. Lakes and streams babbling and birds chirping. A green spot in the Empire. Then the Curse of the Frozen King set upon the land.
