Salali
Primarily played by: Asterinomous
Salali is a Wolf Ocasta and leader of the recruitment attempts to bolster the ranks of the Ocasta in Baltimore. She considers the most important thing that the Ocasta can do is to fulfill their roles as the Cherokee's guardians, and is quick to punish those who step out of line. She sees all other tribes as lesser, for their creation has no purpose but vanity; the Ocasta have a duty.
She lives in the caves in Susquehanna State Park, living off of animals. The caverns are dark and dank, but they are difficult to traverse for those that do not know them and have been warded by Astadi, Salali's cousin of Clan Ocasta who came to Baltimore before her (and perished in the Black Spiral Dancer's attack). He was of Panther, and the sire of Theodore Jackson, who begot Rebekah "Bex" Langley. It was his hiding place as he sought for more of the Cherokee living in Baltimore to add to the ranks of Ocasta's childer, but now that responsibility falls to Salali. Her childer she can hide in the caverns as her sire hid her, and they are liable to never find their way out. She currently has one childe by the name of Koga, and is training the illegitimate Ocasta (Theodore Jackson and Bex Langley) with a begrudging reluctance.

Personal history
Salali Kanoska was born in 1901 in St. Louis, Missouri to two full blooded Cherokee living in the slums and working manual labor as a factory worker and a laundress, respectively. However, from a young age Salali was made very conscious of her own heritage: her parents taught her of the religion and traditions of the tribe while her teacher beat her palms with reeds for speaking her native language of Tsalagi.
By the time she was a young woman, Salali went by "Sally" and had discarded her braids for a short, trendy bob and the clothing her mother had handsewn her for a manufactured dress that was all the rage in 1921. For all her time surrounded by the Ani-yun-wiya, she had abandoned her people in all but body. This is where Kana'ti, of Clan Ocasta, found her. Outraged that one of the pure lines of Cherokee had discarded her nation like trash, he embraced her and took her far away from civilization.
No matter how she cried and screamed to go home, he kept her in the woods, surviving off of animals, until she accepted her place as the guardian and protector of her tribe. Salali did so in action, but not in spirit. Not until after she met Marcel Bellamy of Clan Ventrue.
Of course she knew what Ventrue had done to the Ocasta and Cherokee. How could she not? But Salali, resentful of Kana'ti's treatment of her, still struck up a friendship, then a romance, and finally in one whirlwind night a blood bond with Bellamy. This proved to be a mistake in more than one way: Bellamy turned around and used the bond to coerce Salali to betray her sire, and Kana'ti was slain, diablerized by her love.
Salali was horrified by this change in Bellamy, but the bond was strong and he kept her close. It was almost 50 years before another of her clan was able to find her and free her from Bellamy's control, but still he hunts for his love. Salali now recognizes the responsibility of Wolf Ocasta, and takes her job seriously. She also now hates Ventrue just as much as her elders.

Hobbies & Pets
Salali has a fox familiar by the name of Usdi Agilvgi, meaning "Little Sister."
Speech
Salali speaks roughly - bluntly - at all times. She may be pretty, but she does not mince words and would never use her sensuality to get what she wants. She is too proud for such a thing.
