Ismark is not quite a typical dour Barovian. You encountered him sitting alone at the bar in the Blood of the Vine Tavern. He was quite open that his sister is, Ireena Kolyana. Ismark inspected the letter that the party received and found that is not his late-father's writing. He also knew nothing of this request for aid. He laughed at the idea of this being a wealthy community. He brought the party to the Burgomaster’s Mansion to meet his sister and support her in the coming battle with the forces of darkness.
