NONHUMANS IN BAROVIA

BAROVIANS are exclusively human. The only nonhumans a Barovian will have actually seen are adventurers from other planes who have been lured here by Strahd. So, whilst most Barovians have heard of elves, dwarves and beings with other heritages, there are many who have never met a nonhuman.  
Coupled with the natural distrust and suspicion that comes with living under Strahd's oppression, this means that nonhuman visitors to the realm will most likely be met with fear, scorn and wariness.
The only nonhumans living in Barovia are the secretive DUSK ELVES of VALLAKI.
