The Bleak Lord
The Bleak Lord is a title given to the king of the bleak, whose true name is unknown. He is a mysterious figure, never visible to the public eye; seemingly content to seclude himself in the Bleakspire and rule by proxy. The more cynical among the Bleakmen would tell you he doesn't exist at all, and is merely a ruse by the robber barons of The Bleak Coast to maintain public order.
What is known, however, is that a Bleak Lord has ruled from Bleakspire in Innsmuth since its founding nearly 700 years ago. Though, due to the seclusive nature of their lord, the men of The Bleak Coast know not when the reign of one Bleak Lord ends and another begins... nor how many there have been, or by which method a successor is chosen.
