Volenta Popofsky
Volent Popofsky was a violent and ambitious vampire spawn, and the youngest of Strahd Von Zarovich's chosen brides.
Abilities:
In addition to the enhanced speed and strength of ordinary spawn, Volenta possessed abnormal endurance, even for a vampire. She wore a Barlgura Skull Mask, a gift from her master, which gave her the ability to transform into beasts and an ape resembling the demon that the skull originated from. Volenta fought with her claws, fangs, and a jagged flamberge greatsword.History:
For an unknown period of time about 30 years prior, Volenta acted as a violent serial killer in the city of Vallaki. She would lure unsuspecting guests from taverns and brothels, killing them gruesomely and leaving effigies of flesh in bone in the streets. The fear and panic she caused caught the attention of Strahd, who went into the city disguised to find her. He let himself be lured away by her, only to reveal himself with a smile as her knife broke to pieces on his chest. When Volenta was embarrassed, and told the vampire lord that she had been hoping to get his attention. She begged him to urn her and make her like him. Surprised, as no one had ever got to such lengths and sought him out to become a vampire willingly, Strahd took an interest in the young girl, obliging her wish and quickly taking a liking to her.Schemes and Death:
The young Volenta was unhappy when, years later, Strahd's attention began to shift elsewhere as the fifth iteration of Tatyana, Ireena Kolyana, appeared in Barovia Village. Volenta's ceaseless ambition led her to try to regain her beloved master's attention by mimicking him. She mediated an alliance between Baba Lysaga and the evil druids of the Vine Tribe, attempted to create her own thrall in the form of Kaelimm of the Wanderers, and stalked the party all the way to the Abbey of St. Markovia where she attempted to murder Ireena. However, she was stopped by the party with the help of Escher Belasco, who cut her to pieces with his razor wire.Mental characteristics
