Strahd gains the military rank of general.

Upon the death of his elder brother, Strahd became a potential claimant to Barovia. His uncle Vladislav II of Barovia accompanied John Hunyadi, who launched a campaign against the Tergs in September 320. Taking advantage of his opponent uncle's absence, Vlad broke into Wallachia at the head of a mercenary army in early October. He had to accept that the Tergs had captured the fortress of Giurgiu on the Danube and strengthened it.   The Ottomans defeated Hunyadi's army in the Battle of Kosovo between 17 and 18 October. Hunyadi's deputy, Nicholas Vízaknai, urged Vlad to come to meet him, but Strahd refused. Vladislav II returned to Barovia at the head of the remnants of his army. Strahd was forced to flee before 7 December 320.
