Tansiarda
Just south of the confluence of the Onman and Serpent Rivers lies the town of Tansiarda, home of a consortium of dwarf engineers and magicians embarked on one of the most ambitious endeavour in Barsaive’s history: to bridge The Serpent River.
The Old Theran Road to Parlainth runs through the town, and a well-traveled dwarf caravan route passes near the riverbank opposite Tansiarda. Additionally, the town lies close to a set of abandoned t’skrang towers, which the dwarfs plan to use as piers to support their bridge. Although the plan seems technically feasible, it has aroused the ire of House Syrtis’s Wavram niall, which is based in the area. Tensions have been running high between Tansiarda’s dwarfs and the t’skrang of nearby villages.
Districts
Landside
Landside appropriately enough is the section of the city built on the north western coast of The Serpent River, Landside is the newer and poorer side of the city, it contains the main market and most of the Merchant shipping ties up to the piers of Landside. The Old Theran road runs through Landside entering from the west gate and exiting east gate, a more modern trade road across the Throal Mountain Range enters the city through the north gate. The Fang
The Fang is a cliff sided island that juts out into The Serpent River, it has long been a fortress and only more recently a town. The Fang is connected to Landside by a large bridge that crosses the centre of the harbour, the centre of the bridge can be raised to allow larger ships to cross, as you follow the main road up the hill the homes get progressively wealthier until you get to the town hall and the arena opposite, at the highest point sits Castle Tansiarda and the two great T'Skrang towers. The Bridge
Built out from the tip of The Fang and connected to the great towers are massive stone pillars, connecting walls, cables and scaffolding, all part of the massive undertaking to bridge The Serpent River.Defences
The landward side of Tansiada is protected by a curtain wall around which is a large open space which is generally used for grazing sheep but makes for a clear killing field in times of war, small rivers surround the town to the north and west.
On the north western road out of town, as it enters the Throal Mountain Range sits a defensive fort.
The Harbour is well protected with the east and west gates to the Harbour able to be blocked off by great chains and the defensive towers mounting large ballista not to mention room for Mages.
The Fang raises high above the river, the cliff side surmounted by walls, on the very southern tip lie two ancient T'Skrang towers, damaged but still impressively tall.
