14: Animaesus and Tarrasques: Interim before the Mage's Death
General Summary
It is the 17th of Light, 697, 1:30 Pm in the afternoon, and the group meets with a battle priest from the 6th House, an associate of Pio's, and they discuss the price for the priest's silence at trying to perform necromancy to stabilize Adira's body before it becomes undead. The priest agrees for two larger gems gifted from Eros' gains, and the melin priest says he needs a day to prepare the proper ritual. The group sees nothing out of the ordinary about this. Birman arrives with Donovan and Leandra during this discussion.
The rest of the day is spent discussing plans for Altopar's deception, capture, and eventual death after interrogation. Stryke spends the day drinking; Eros gather the coins and chests remaining in Terry's house, gaining 8 gems worth 10 gp each, 1900 cp (she gives these to Birdman to hold onto), and splits four ways with Stryke, Cotton, Birdman, and herself, 900sp and 120 gp. She then pisses in the chest and leaves it outside for Birdman to properly trash. Cotton also takes Stryke's Children through the festival, enjoying its oddities and delights for the rest of the day: Leandra gets a fan with a sleeping cat within its folds; Althea gets an undecipherable treasure map to something hidden beneath the city; Donovan gets a lapid's foot; lastly, Rhogarr wins a mechanical spider, seemingly only moving when he is not looking on it.
Meanwhile, Mel drinks with Stryke, and Ssech finds Sheen, a putori tattooist, and the mage is able to get a find familiar spell (for 800 gp, which he pays half) on his forearm.
Once they meet back at Squarmy's Tavern , they agree to let Pio defend the children here, and the next day they will set plans to finally rid themselves of Altopar, of the 10th House.
