Session 19: Animaesus and Tarrasques: The Answer is Plate
General Summary
It is late the first of Fall Feather, first Pelor's, and the group spends some time to investigate and rest about their new arrangements and goals. Ssech meets with a human contact in the 5th House, Lucius, a researcher and catalyst trying to understand the mutations the tarrasque consumption and association that has begun to plague the city. He has strange apparatuses that help him see the minute pieces of our blood and body, cells he calls them. Ssech continues searching though, for something.
Stryke begins a construction of a composite bow, something his people learned from orcs far across the eastern seas.
Birdman tries to find means to get Drek's vorpal axe from the Stagecourt Prisons, but he is not successful.
Eros tries to connect with this ancient, tortoise-man artifact.
It is then that a earthquake hits the city hard, just south of the Beast' Keep that is near central west of the city. Part of the sourthern wall of the Keep falls into badly tunneled sewers from the 12th House's new ventures. The group was near asleep, but they do decide to take action and investigate. Firstly, Birdman travels to the south, followed by Stryke then Ssech soon thereafter. The melin and Ssech go to see how these tunnels connect to their northern tunneling, as done by Stryke. Birdman waits, but then goes through the sewer system to find a hidden 'lair' of the 12th House Drow. However, he agrees going further alone will only lead to his peril, so he returns above.
Eros, then, in a frenzy of artistry, paint, and performance, makes a mural of the future--one of the artifact rising, laying the city to waste in flames and destruction.
At the end of this investigation, and nearing the midnight hour, another earthquake erupts just east of the first, and a larger, but not all full grown tarrasque rises from this new calamity. This forces the group, as Birdman watches on, to run in to aid. Birdman hopes to see no further evidence of evil rise up, and none does arise. The tarrasque lays waste to a portion of the city, and many people die in its wake, even other guards of the Tailstones and the 12th House abound in the slaughter.
The group is able to finish the beast off.
Meanwhile, Eros goes below the to 12th House to practice her new routine, and she is able to succeed, but at a cost to her self and being. Ka'sh will rise to aid her.
