Session 35: Animaesus and Tarrasques: Beauty, magic and Baarong, the Terror of the Marsh

General Summary

The group awakes early, the children asking to go see K'ash, and to see more of the city and nature around them, before more people come. Althea and Donovan are especially enjoying the open land; Leandra and Rhogarr definitely follow suit, but they are ambivalent as well.
Nonetheless, Eros, Nuvell, and Roxana agree to escort the children outside the city, but they stop at Birdman first, Althea and Donovan do. Birdman is aggressively exercising down the hill, away from the mansion, and while Donovan, the young Canis, copies the elf's exercise, Althea tells Birdman that Eros will indeed be joining.
On their way out of town, however, strange sounds echo in the wind, and a stranger, bioluminescent and blue skinned, walks up to the city in the early morning.
Solas, walks confidently, but absentmindedly, forward, both curious and confused about the strange customs of the surface people. However, she also hears the strange calls in the wind, and eventually with the magic from Eros, understands that sacrifice, devotion, and blood were at said in the winds. Eros greets this new stranger and discovers a power about that person must only come from her innate strength, Solas, from water and planes beyond. Hearing these odd noises, and wanting to protect the children and those still remaining in the mansion, Eros, Birdman, and Solas head southwest out of the city. On traveling through the city, the Cynas guards stop them, wondering of the new blue-skinned stranger, but also fearful of the new threat from above: the shadow of a immense creature with wings.
The shadow has almost flown away, and Eros telepathically links with it within a mile, and they strike a bargain to both investigate the odd noises, what Eros and Birdman believe are gnolls. The dragon, a black dragon from another ancient time, lands outside the city, sparking fear, but Eros' eloquence keeps the city from attacking the creature, and she and the wood elf, Birdman, along with Solas, ride their new big friend further more south, only to find nearly three dozen gnolls gathering for some dark purpose. They engage first with Solas reversing the gravity around the hyena-men, well two thirds of them, which the black dragon cleans up and destroys with acid and claws and his tail, after Birdman, Eros, and Salos destroy the other third, with psychic darts, arrows and a rhino, and lightning bolts at point blank range.
After defeating the gnolls, they return to the city, and convince the dragon to move elsewhere, and hopefully he will be more quiet, Baarong, Terror of the Marsh.
