Session 55: Animaesus and Tarrasques: The Duel

General Summary

Later in the evening, the moon above, splintered, and Killian stomps through the mud, following his father, Hybearn, First House Binder Lord. He must help to fulfill the challenge his father has claimed, to that of N'rend, the current Alpha of the 50 Lords of the Lupin Packs. They meet now, in this swampy muck, this expanse of death, the soil saturated with the blood and fluids the tarrasque.
They are not alone, as members of the 10th, 4th, and 3rd House, all Animaesus, have come to bear witness to who may or may not be the next Alpha, the position that binds the City of Salt to the northern reaches of the continent.
Room! Aregash barks, as he stirs his staff into the green, muddy liquids, for they are not water. And room is made, and then the challenger, as is their right, must decide how this choice will be made: by first strike, by first blood or to the death (a solo bought or a group test of the divine). After conferring with Killian, Hybearn commits his challenge to that of first blood, and he is first beset by N'rend's great axe, but not before his son Killian pummels Aregash, the lupin druid and spiritual leader, with his huge fists. Yet, seeing Hybearn being attacked so heavily, he takes a position to move his father to go after Aregash, so Killian can take care of N'rend. This works for a few moments until Aregash heals him self, and Killian notices the druid has given N'rend magical foresight.
The lupin giant digs in deeply, and he is able to keep both assailants distracted, soon warning them of the faulty choices. They should choose life, and unity with the new pack that Hybearn will establish.

Across the city, Ssech spends his time looking for a precious item to embolden his magics, but only after collecting on his gains from Pio's, and the 10th House's, losses.

Birdman finds Sayrulion in the main tavern of Rexaney, the 13th House Binder Lord. He wishes to send magical messages across the great many miles, to wherever Eros is; he must warn her: the tarrasque is rising, the lords are losing their minds, the focus if the city is waning. Eros will come, and he finds her after a few long days of a storm, of travel to the south west to investigate a dwarven encampment for their own rights, but also the quest of the Lapid High King to know more about how to protect her lands and people. She makes a plan with the casters of the party to teleport her back as she goes to help Birdman, back in the City of Salt.
As he waits for Eros' full response, Birdman, the wayward wood elf who was once a kenku, goes back home, only to find Faurwiin, Tenebris, and Thelas using his home as a place to lay low after the fall light from the 11th House tower. The High Elf wizard, Faurwiin, and his apprentice, Tenerbis, offer Birdman an alliance, but he refuses. They off him a future, but he refuses. They are not enemies, but not friends either, and Birdman even threatens to reveal Orcafor's demise to the people. The elves leave, saying they need to fix the broken tower, but they also warn of future engagements togethe, as children of the fey.

Amu will eventually make his way to Birdman, but Killian heads there first, and he follows behind a figure who just magicially appeared in front of Birdman's apartment, and now they climb Birdman's steps to go to his front door.
