Episode Six: Trauma and Shopping 10/10/2023
The group goes to sleep only to find themselves thrown into a nightmare - each member seemingly holding a piece to a puzzle which centers around a box containing iridescent grubs, strange mirrored helmets and a woman named Magista Barbile (who appears to work in Research and Development). Brother Carmine awakens to find himself alone in his room, the young boy Petyr no longer with him and he freaks out and tries to find him. Marben and Josiki search upstairs and find that Monty's room is empty and so they head downstairs to find the young lad eating breakfast at the bar.
He mentions that everyone was yelling and making weird noises in their sleep so he got up early and that their friend is in the kitchen, he requested some earplugs from the market so that he can sleep without being woken up by the groups night time antics. Brother Carmine heads into the kitchen and is met with a near miss from a bullet shot from the revolver Monty is holding and in response Carmine casts hold person and calls the group into the kitchen. Everyone piles in and looks with concern upon Monty and they talk about the potential of the nightmares they shared perhaps disturbing him and eventually Marben and Josiki grab hold of Monty whilst Brother Carmine casts calm emotions upon him.
After hold person disappated and calm emotions takes hold, Monty describes what he saw in his nightmare which seemed to coinside with the rest of the group - to a point. Namely the dreams seemed to follow the journey of a box of colourful grubs from the mailroom to research and development via the pneumatic cage system through parliament. The box originally contained five grubs (labelled as S.M Caterpillars) but the mailroom clerk seemed to have taken one and forged the documentation to show four. These four ended up in Research and development where a scientist named Magista Barbile seemingly fed them to some kind of dangerous creature whilst walking backwards and wearing a strange mirrored helmet.
Monty's dream differed in that some kind of large spider spoke to him, a spider with human like hands. Kate made mention of a being of time and space named The Weaver but that was all the information she had on the being. Monty wanted to throw the towel in and just deliver the information to the Mayor and stormed off but was stopped by Petyr who was eavesdropping at the door and said that "Accusing a major political figure of murder with nothing more than the word of a man you met in the sewer will achieve nothing" and in response Monty punched the boy in the face and stormed upstairs.
The group stood awkwardly for a moment before Brother Carmine made pancakes and Kate made tea for the group to enjoy and eventually Kate took a plate upstairs to Monty who then divulged some of his childhood to the Bar maid who was rather confused about the university and their practices. She does suggest that if they are looking for rebels, perhaps talking with Isaac and his ilk (namely Derkhan, the older woman who smoked a cigar and said nothing when Josiki stole the glasses from Isaac's face) or even Lemuel Pidgeon may render positive results and offers Monty a plate of food.
Monty declines and instead goes downstairs and gathers the group to go to Spit Bazaar for a shopping trip where collectively they acquired new weapons and armor, a fancy suit for Brother Carmine, a hoodie for Josiki from the Derelique for the Tall Gentleman range, some poisons and potions, The Book of Forbidden Magicks by Nemethyr Cadnebar and last but not least a Bloodhound pup named Bernard.
