The Iron Bay

As the receiving area for the immense merchant fleets visiting New Crobuzon, Iron Bay is closely guarded, and entirely under the control of the city. Patrols of naval ironclads are a common sight in these waters. Several New Crobuzon state shipyards are scattered along the rim of the bay, as are docking stations which are used to ship out the food produced by the Grain Spiral.
