The Preservers of Truth
To revere Hidhania is to worship the great Creator. As she who created time itself, Hidhania is the mother of all things that followed. Who we were, who we are, and who we will become are all due to our omnipresent goddess. To serve her means to honor the very fabric of existence. Those of us who take our vows to serve her directly take on the great responsibility of collecting and preserving what knowledge that we can and advising others to the best of our ability.
-Nyietha Flickerfan, Cleric of Hidhania and First Light of the Great University at Senzicus
Structure
The temple of Hidhania has a distinct structure in which all are aware of where they stand. The highest ranking individual is the High Cleric, who is the final mortal arbiter in the temple. He or she is chosen for possessing great wisdom and fairness, the goddess herself giving her blessing to each one chosen.
Below the High Cleric are the Three Lights, who are each given jurisdiction over different areas of the religion. It is they to whom all matters of apparent import are brought, and they who decide if those matters should be brought before the High Cleric. It is a decision that they all make together, for their ranking is equal.
Below the Three Lights are nine clerics, each of whom has jurisdiction over a single one of the goddess Hidhania's domains. To be chosen for these positions, a cleric must demonstrate superior wisdom and knowledge regarding their particular domain. These are as follows:
The Librarian: This cleric presides over the domain of knowledge. He or she watches over the library and is known to be the most learned of all. This cleric resides at temple's library itself, his or her personal quarters connected to the room holding the temple's most precious and profound scrolls and books.
The Memory: This cleric holds sway over the domain of Ancestry. He or she gathers information on the ancestries of as many as possible, spending a great deal of time looking for connections between various peoples.
The Oracle: This cleric presides over the domain of Divination. He or she is specialized in this school of magic, and keeps watch over numerous divining items. Any questions regarding things that cannot be so easily found in books and scrolls are brought to this cleric.
Lawkeeper: This cleric presides over the domain of Law. Not only does the cleric document the laws of the temple and religion of Hidhania, he or she gathers what knowledge can be found of the Laws of all people and groups on Bastarre.
The Judge: This cleric rules over the domain of Judgement. All disputes and arguments of note are brought here, and he or she is expected to give the final word on them, which is to be respected and adhered to.
The Timekeeper: This cleric is in charge of the domain of Time. He or she is well-trained in the law of possibility, being very adept at determining what consequences may come if certain actions are taken or not taken. This cleric's job is also to be sensitive to any possible shifts or changes in time that might take place magically.
The Oathkeeper: This cleric rules over the domain of Pact. He or she is charged with sealing pacts, treaties, and agreements and to make sure that such things are fair to all involved. This cleric will also preside over ceremonies such as weddings, in which promises are to be made and kept.

He or she is the one behind the creation of guardians such as golems that protect the temple, and he cleric is sometimes called on to help during a famine or drought. Couples who are having difficulty conceiving children will often come to this cleric for help.
The General: This cleric presides over the domain of Leadership. He or she is the one who will make the final decisions regarding anything that the other clerics equal to or below him or her in rank request. It is this cleric who will decide whether or not to bring a matter before the Three Lights. This cleric is also in charge of the temple guards.
Public Agenda
On Bastarre, The Preservers publicly serve to teach and to keep all knowledge possible in the library.
Mythology & Lore
In the beginning were the six elder gods, Hidhania, Lathair, Megiana, Marticon, and the twins Vaidishar, and Alibaisha. Hidhania presided over the others, a difficult task, at best. It was she who created Time, and with that, the rest of Creation. The gods each went their own way, finding worlds to favor with their attention.
Eventually, even more worlds came into being, and with them, other gods ascended to rise above and influence them. The elder gods, while continuing to watch over things, withdrew from most of the worlds and kept more distant watch upon them. Early on in the ascension of the new worlds, Vaidishar and Alibaisha disappeared, only to reappear not long ago. This is a tale for another day.
It is only recently that the elder gods have become well known again, although for Bastarre and Jaggol, they have been the only ones known. It is the four who remained who closed these two worlds off from the rest of the multiverse, protecting all others from the possibility of the fiendish invasion that overtook them.
