Agem Orshen

Deep within the heart of the Valtara Mountains lies the ancient stronghold of the dwarves, Agem Orshen. For thousands of years, they have lived and toiled within its tunnels and halls, carving out great mines and crafting weapons and armor of unparalleled quality. Their skills with metalworking and engineering were unmatched by any race in the northern lands, and many sought their goods and services.   The dwarves didn't care to share their wealth the the humans of the northern lands, which caused great envy in the kings of Valtara. So, they launched an assault on the stronghold and attempted to seize control of their mines.   It was a long and bloody war, with both sides suffering great losses. The humans fought fiercely, but the dwarves were able to use their knowledge of the mountain's terrain to their advantage. In the end, both sides suffered great losses, but neither could claim victory. So a treaty was signed.  The war had left them bitter and distrustful of humans, and they withdrew from the surface world to focus on their own affairs.   The War of Coffers   Despite their isolation, the dwarves continued to thrive. They perfected their craft, forging weapons and armor that were sought after by kings and lords across the land. Their mines yielded precious metals and gems, and they grew rich beyond measure. But their wealth also drew the attention of other races, and the dwarves had to constantly defend their home from goblins, orcs, and other creatures who sought to plunder their treasures.   Over the centuries, the dwarves' stronghold grew and expanded, as they delved deeper into the mountain's heart. Their halls were lined with glittering gems and precious metals, and their forges burned day and night, crafting weapons and armor that were the envy of all who beheld them.   Today, the dwarves of Valtara care little for the humans who dwell in the world above. They have no desire for war or conquest, and instead focus on their own pursuits. They trade their wares in the Metropolis of Epoch, a bustling city where merchants from all corners of the world come to buy and sell. Though they are still wary of outsiders, they have found a measure of peace and prosperity, and their stronghold remains a marvel of engineering and craftsmanship.
