Valtaran

The people of Valtara, known as Valtarans, are a predominantly human population with a diverse array of features that reflect the varied climates and cultures across the continent. Light-skinned and with a range of hair colors including brown, blonde, amber, and red, Valtarans exhibit a spectrum of physical traits that mirror the rich tapestry of their homeland.   In the northern reaches of Valtara, where the climate is cooler, Valtarans often boast lighter eyes that might be shades of blue, green, or gray. This is a reflection of the icy landscapes and the prevalence of lighter pigments in response to the reduced sunlight. As one travels southward, into the warmer and sunnier territories, the people tend to have darker eyes, ranging from hazel to deep brown. This adaptation is often associated with the need for increased protection against the sun's intensity.   Despite these regional differences, Valtarans share a common humanity and cultural heritage that transcends the physical variations. The capital city, Epoch, in East Valtara, serves as a melting pot of these diverse traits and is a testament to the unity that binds the people together. However, the shadow of the Pestilence in the west serves as a reminder of the challenges faced by the Valtarans and the fractures that have shaped their history. The lost western territories evoke a sense of mystery and sorrow, as the Pestilence has severed connections and left that part of Valtara shrouded in uncertainty.
