Driven by a passion for science from a young age, Robert pursued a rigorous academic path, earning a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering from the esteemed Veridian University. Mawnay further honed his expertise by pursuing a Master's degree in Neuroscience at the University of Bathala, where he explored the intricacies of brain-computer interfaces. Driven by an insatiable thirst for knowledge, he then pursued his doctoral studies and earned his Ph.D. in Artificial Intelligence and Robotics. Armed with an interdisciplinary background, he combined his understanding of neuroscience, engineering, and AI to conceive and develop the ground-breaking NET device, enabling a direct mental interface with computers.

Mental Trauma

Robert Mawnay is haunted by the research and development he was forced to partake in at Schurk Industries, feeling it betrayed everything he'd ever stood for. Due to this internal conflict, and his inability to leave the company, he developed a dependence on diazepam which he uses to settle his nerves.

During his time at Schurk Industries, Robert became increasingly tense due to his discomfort at the work he was being forced to participate in. This has led him to suffer from panic attacks for which he self-prescribes benzodiazepine medication, and to which he's developed an unhealthy addiction.

All that however, was before he was approached by an agent of Schurk Industries who made him an offer he couldn't refuse and his life took an unexpected turn.
