Welcome to Bathala City, the Home of Heroes! This is a world rich in superhero stories both grand and personal, and I wanted to give you a quick run-down of the important features to jump in!   As you enter this world, the year is 2025. This version of Earth is much like our own in many ways and in creating it, I've taken a distinctly "like our world unless stated otherwise" approach. Major historical events in real life are generally a part of the history here too, though they'll often have a slightly different course of events, primarily involving superhumans! World War I and the involvement of The Blazing Aces is a great example of this. Different details, but the same story.   In the past ten-to-fifteen years, there's been something of an explosion in superhuman activity however, with costumed heroes beginning to spring up on an almost regular basis, and none more prominent than the world's foremost superhero team, The Vigil.   Originally brought together by the hero Blue to deal with the terrorist supervillain The Crowd, the team quickly gained popularity for their efforts and, after the establishment of government-backed superhero initiatives, became ambassadors for what superheroes should be.   More recently though, many of the Vigil members have found themselves wanting to take a step back from their hero work, whether to focus on personal projects, start a family, or even just take a break. So, in the past few months, the team announced that they'd be sponsoring several up-and-coming heroes to form a new team (colloquially known as the B-team) and keep an eye on the city in their stead.
