Mechanics & Inner Workings

Via some unknown means, the disk and by extension the computer it's inserted into, are able to mimic the voices and mannerisms of people relevant to those around the disk. It can pull memories straight out of the minds of its victims and uses those to manipulate them into doing its dark bidding, though people of sufficient mental fortitude can resist its effects.

Significance

The floppy disk is possessed of some manner of demonic magic, making it both remarkably resistant to damage and seemingly possessed of a malicious intelligence, though it doesn't respond to much in the way of psychic interaction and is rendered mostly inert without a computer to house it.
