Earthmother is Murdered by Schurk Industries

Following her destruction of Schurk Industries property for the sake of her young daughter, the Irish superheroine Earthmother is tracked down and summarily executed by Agent Iron.

It didn't take long for Agent Iron to finally track down the Earthmother, after months of fruitless leads and wild goose chases, her reckless assault upon the company’s facility had put her firmly in his sights and when he engaged her, their fighting would rage all across the city, his own power to weaken and reshape material of any kind proving vital in his endeavour and eventually he forced a retreat. As her broken form lay before him, he heard a sound that chilled his blood   "Mammy? Get up, you have to stop him."   He looked over and saw a small girl staring at him in terror, and as he tried to approach, she scurried back screaming.   "STOP HIM MAMMY, PLEASE, HE'S COMING FOR ME!"   He froze, shame and doubt over what the company had asked of him clouding his mind for the first time.   "There can be no witnesses." Mina's voice reached him from the com bud in his ear.   "You can't be serious," he muttered back, "She's just a child, besides there will already be plenty of witnesses, we fought all across the city."   "The company has already taken care of that, a new type of amnestic, now do as you're told and deal with her"   There was a pause.   "No."   There came a tsk sound before he heard.   "Be a good lad, and kill the girl."   He had never heard his command phrase before, it had never been needed, but once she finished speaking, he blacked out.   By the time he came to again, his hands were soaked in blood and he knew what he'd done. He stood robotically and using his powers, brought the structure down, not once looking at the body of the Hero or the child he'd murdered. Emerging onto the streets he was confronted by Mina who struck him across the face with an open palm.   "Next time don't question my orders, now be a good-"   She didn't have time to finish the sentence as Frank used the side sway caused by Mina's slap to place a hand on the nearby concrete wall and pull a baton shaped rod from it, swinging it at her head as he swayed back towards her. The blow missed as her own combat training kicked in, but the sheer surprise of being attacked by Frank put her on the back foot. He brought the baton back around, missing again but making a crater in the same wall he'd pulled his weapon from, the shrapnel from which struck Mina across the temple and rendered her momentarily stunned.   Frank took full advantage, taking her legs out from under her with a sweeping kick, before grabbing a hold of the wall he'd already damaged and bringing it down bodily upon her. He didn't know if she'd been killed by the manoeuvre and he didn't wait to find out. He ran, took the vehicle that had been assigned to him and Mina, raced back to their shared flat in Bathala and took everything he could carry before vanishing into the night.
