House Dak'ari
An ancient house of Bavo'sand, not one of the original tribes that form Bavan, but one of tribes they contact in the early days of the formation of the Republic of the Sands. But they didn't go without a fight, including making a deal with the Bel, the Lord of Avernus, to give them great powers, becoming some of the first half-devils on the plane, becoming Tielfings, but either the strength and wit given to those with the devil blood running though them wasn't enough to stop Bavan taking over their lands. But due to the power and respect of the Dak'ari people they allowed a modicate of self rule and over many years and centuries. the House Dak'ari became to be seen as one of the Great Houses of Bavan, after many successful campaigns to integrate other tribes and kingdoms into the Republic.
The house was known as the Hellriders, those Tielfing elite spies and warriors allowed for many easier campaigns than possible would have happened without them. As wars became less company the Hellriders started looking inwards towards the Republic and started to help maintain the Laws of the Republic and route out traitors, corrupted individuals and generally became the police of the Republic.
Either during the times of the corruption of the Senate and the earlier days wars with the traders, they tried to hold the rules of the city and kept neutral in those fights and tried to deal with the corruption that had taken route.
Nowadays the Hellriders still work as police, but more as intelligence service keeping an eye on outside forces, corruption within the guilds, nobles and mages. They one of the few groups that can stand up to small groups of Mages due to the devil bloodlines within the house.
The Marquis Da'kari is a strong sorcerer, due to devil blood being strong within him, bring out magic untrained and unbidden.
