Arj of Sovereign
Former Commander, Sovereign Infantry Arj Teryl (a.k.a. Arj of Sovereign)
Arj joined the Sovereign Infantry in his late teenage years, where he would primarily handle bandit incursions, trade road protection, and dispute resolution. He rapidly earned a reputation as a skillful negotiator and tactician and climbed the ranks of the military.
His promotion to Commander of Sovereign's Infantry Division was unanimous.
His tenure as Commander lasted for 18 years until the conquest of Sovereign by The Draconian Empire.
The rise of Arj of Sovereign
With Sovereign in disarray and without a governing body, the Draconian Empire seated its own to govern the city, and in turn dissolved the vital arteries of trade through The West.Arj could not stand to be a pawn of an oppressive empire, and stormed out of the city, with him his personal guard and those loyal to him.
You think you can take our lands, our trade routes, our livelihood, and make them your own? Take our way of life and strip it of everything it stands for and make us Draconians? Bullshit. You will rue the day you raided our sanctuary in the West, Tulian. This is the land of the Sovereign people.
Arj of Sovereign was coined that day, and his group of deserters became the New Sovereign Rebellion, fighting a guerilla war against the Draconian Empire's attempts to control the people and the territories of Sovereign.

History
Arj has always made a point to visit the Undercity to have a feeling of how the capital city is as a whole, and quickly made friends with Sybol in his youth. Sybol would listen to his talks on how the world works, and was always fascinated by battle strategy and tactics.
The two would value each other's friendship, and work together on multiple occasions before and after the fall of Sovereign to the Draconian Empire.
History
In his youth, Cheshire had always shied away from Arj, seeing him as more of an authority figure than a mentor, but after Sovereign fell to the Dragons, he sees just how much he cares for Sovereign and its people.
Cheshire would contact Arj after his resignation, offering his extensive knowledge and skilled agents to his cause.
Arj may not know Cheshire well, but can respect his aid and genuine concern for Sovereign.
Nicknames & Petnames
It is believed that the moniker "Arj of Sovereign" was coined by Cheshire, and spread like wildfire among the populace.
