Golem
A Golem is similar to an Automaton, but instead of a machine being overtaken by the Awakening Protocol, nanomachines are instead under the influence of the virus and fuse with the environment to create a functioning "body".
While without a host, Golems travel as a nanomachine cluster, flying a few feet above the ground as a swarm or cluster.
Golems will use whatever they can attach to a central torso they can, whether it's rock, metal scraps, debris, even trees. Once the part is attached, nanomachines bore and weave themselves into the material, and it becomes an extension of the golem.
Nanomachines typically build more of themselves when it is deemed appropriate by internal programming, so a Golem can release extra nanomachines to form additional Golems if needed, and retain the same wireless network that automatons use to communicate.

Basic Information
Dietary Needs and Habits
Golems fuel themselves through a mixture of solar power and conversion of energy from the environment, varying by their internal design. Typically, golems in their nanomachine swarms will scatter across rock faces and other surfaces exposed to the sun, charging themselves for less ideal periods of time.
